Veiled Freedom

                                 Veiled Freedom:

There is a freedom that gives and takes.

A freedom that gives you lots of friends, worldly pleasures, fame, favor with men, money, independence, status, and so on. But, it is a veiled freedom. Once the virtual reality goggles have been removed, you suddenly find yourself in a dark, locked room, bound to a chair with weighted chains. Some, when faced with this new found reality of where, and what state they truly live in- are eager to hear how they can truly be free. But others just laugh it off, placing the goggles back on to “ live the life of freedom”, only to awake in a lake of fire, with no hope, and no escape for eternity long. It’s the veiled freedom of sin. It gives you pleasure for a season, but it own’s you, and takes your eternal soul. It’s not really a good trade off now is it? The wages of sin is death ( see Romans 6:23). The chains of sin can only fall, when you repent of your sins, and put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone. Then the truth will MAKE you free! Not a veiled freedom that sin gives,  but a freedom that is so real, even beyond our imagination, and gives eternal life! Romans 6 tells us, if you obey sin, then you  are a servant to sin, but if you obey righteousness, then you’re a servant to righteousness. WHO OWNS YOU? Righteousness or sin? You cannot serve sin and a Jesus Christ the Righteous. Once saved, you must daily die to self, and take up you cross and follow Jesus. Live and walk by the gospel. God’s Grace empowers us to live a life free from sin, and into the glorious liberty of Christ’s Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:17) What about you? Are you living n a virtual reality world of  veiled freedom? Or a glorious liberty and freedom that spills into eternity? SELAH. ❤️ -Hannah Elisabeth
