What happens when two girls grill…
I was selected to be the first to grill on our new grill last night. My dad was busy with editing videos, so that left me to do it. π I used this opportunity, however to teach one of my sisters (15 year old Havilah) the basics of grilling. I think my sisters secretly enjoy the fact that I’m the one sister who knows how to grill. Haha. So by default, if my Dad can’t grill it leaves it up to me. π
The grill was quite full due to poppers, hamburgers, hotdogs, and onions frying on the side. So it was a bit stressful and I think stressed Hava a bit about grilling. Haha.
When you amusingly watch two girls grill, you may hear a few squeals as the flames shoot up, and, “Oh, no! The poppers are splitting!” As I painfully watch the delicious, cheese filling drip to the bottom of the grill! “Hava, we forgot toothpicks on this popper!” She runs inside and quickly brings out the toothpicks. She goes to hand me the toothpicks, when a huge flame shot up due to grease, she screamed and let all the toothpicks go flying all over the porch! Oops.
My twin sister, Hope, sat all relaxed, reading a ballet book and enjoying the show. π

Wow. Looks delicious! I’m a huge fan of hot peppers, I’m sure I could’ve helped get rid of a couple for you. Great job! ππ»
ReplyDeleteHaha. Yes! JalapeΓ±os and poblanos make DELICIOUS poppers! Thank you! π
DeleteHaha! Yep! You will always be our grill expert, Hannah! π Hava’s just a little bit drama! π And of course, Hope would be reading a ballet how to book…gettin’ those “Tour en L’airs!” π©°
ReplyDeleteI shall never allow you to teach me how to grill. It’s all yours! π
Great pics!
Faith dearest, there is nothing wrong with knowing how to grill! If you won’t learn for me, to give me a break every now and again, at least learn for survival purposes! Thanks. π
DeleteThis is so funny! π€£ I leave the grilling to my older brother and daddy.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes! If I had an older brother around I would leave it to him too, Cassandra. ❤️ Can’t say as I blame you. ☺️
DeleteI think I would be the one reading a book! LoL My buddies grill just fine but I tend to burn everything. Neat post.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Okay, sorry, that’s funny. π Grilling isn’t for everyone I suppose. π Keep trying, Robin!
DeleteHey! I wanna join the comment party! Lol!π
ReplyDeleteI like these real life kinda posts, you guys!!!
Why didn’t you invite us? π€¨ππ
Personally I don’t grill. Why should I? My dad and brothers need to cook sometimes!!! I didn’t even know that you girls grilled. DON’T give my dad or brothers any ideas!!!! π€£ πππ₯π³π§ πΆ️
Awww. Elizabeth dear, you’re always a real sweetie.Thank you for the kind words! ❤️ I’ve only started grilling in the past few years or so, since there are no brothers around to give my Dad a break when he is busy. But please, I need a break too, so, don’t encourage my sisters not to learn! π
DeleteA ballet book….. sounds like Hope!
ReplyDeleteI agree Faith! Don’t learn how to grill!! It’s too dangerous!π π
Don’t worry, Lizzy dear! π©΅I won’t! If I did, then I would be the new “grill girl!” π This post is cracking me up at how many comments it’s gotten! π
DeleteHey, I like to grill too!! Although no one can grill better than my husband (who is teaching me) or brother-in-law. So I just leave that up to them 99% of the time. Lol!
ReplyDeleteCute post, Hannah! π₯°

Yay! Another girl who grills! I don’t feel alone anymore. ❤️ That’s great your husband is teaching you. I think grilling is an important skill to know how to do. And I have always thought when I get married, I can give my hubby a break every now and again, or just surprise him with a grilled dinner. π Btw- how did you and your hubby meet? I would love to know! Thanks! ❤️
DeleteI agree! π₯°
DeleteIt’s kinda a long story, but to put it shortly he and his family were visiting our church when I was 15 or so. Not too long after my dad passed away. I was in contact with one of his sisters who was a pen-pal of mine, and they were lonely and had no fellowship. So they visited our church and stayed ever since. Which makes me so happy because my in-laws are all my best friends! ☺️❤️

Wow! That is an unbelievably amazing story (shortened)! π₯° Thank you for sharing, Ariana! ❤️
DeleteI too, have had pen pals, but they have gotten fewer over the years. Unfortunately, because of phones, social media, etc., lettering is almost a thing of the past. ☹️ I remember you telling me about your two sister-in-laws, but wasn’t sure how you and your hubby met. ☺️
So I don’t like to grill (haha) and will leave it up to Hannah! But, grilled food is THE BEST and tastiest food that you can possibly put in your mouth! ;)
ReplyDeleteI think guys do it better, and the kitchen is for the ladies. BUT- Hannah, you do a great job! Haha I’ll keep reading in the mean time… *wink wink* π©΅π©΅π©΅π€£πππ
Oh, come on girl! How do you know you don’t like to grill when you have never tried! π
